What a boost really costs, the three honest ways to bring that price down, and what to check before you pay a reseller.

Boosting a server gets expensive fast: at the official price, taking a server to level 3 needs 14 boosts, which is around €70 a month. There are several ways to bring that number down. Some come from Discord itself, some don't. Here they are, and what each one is actually worth.

What a boost costs at Discord

A boost costs around €5 a month, renewed automatically until you stop it. It is a subscription, not a one-off purchase: the day you stop paying, the server drops a level.

For a server, that means:

  • Level 1: 2 boosts, about €10 a month
  • Level 2: 7 boosts, about €35 a month
  • Level 3: 14 boosts, about €70 a month

If you want the detail of what each level unlocks, it is in our article on how many boosts a level 3 server needs.

1. Nitro, the official discount

A Discord Nitro subscription (around €10 a month) includes 2 boosts and 30% off every extra boost you buy.

Do the maths for level 3:

  • 14 boosts at full price: about €70 a month
  • Nitro + 12 boosts at −30%: about €10 + €42, so €52 a month

Better, but that is still a restaurant night every month, and you have to keep Nitro running. If Nitro interests you for yourself and not only for the server, read cheap Discord Nitro.

2. Boosts paid by the community

The healthiest method if your server has active members: ask them. Plenty of servers set up a "boosters" channel with a coloured role, a private area and a mention in the announcements. Two or three people taking two boosts each, and level 2 is reached without one person carrying it all.

A visible role and a little public credit do more than any promise: people boost to be seen, not for the audio quality.

3. Going through a reseller

Resellers may offer different prices from the official storefront. Compare the exact duration, activation method and conditions before buying. Check the current Ap Service catalog rather than relying on a third-party price comparison.

Regional pricing, promotions and delivery arrangements can affect reseller offers. A low price does not establish how an offer was sourced or whether your account is eligible. Check the listing and ask support if the method is unclear.

What to check before you pay

A serious reseller shows a few signs:

  1. A traceable payment. Card through a real provider (Stripe), Apple Pay, Google Pay. A seller who only takes transfers between individuals has nothing to lose by disappearing.
  2. A written guarantee for the whole period. A boost can drop; what matters is that it gets replaced without an argument.
  3. Support you can reach before buying. Ask a question on Discord or Telegram and watch how long the answer takes.
  4. Recent, checkable reviews, with usernames you can find again.

How many boosts to take

  • You just want more emoji slots and decent audio: 2 boosts (level 1) are enough.
  • You stream, run game nights, host events: aim for level 2 (7 boosts) for 1080p 60fps and the banner.
  • You run a big community and want the custom discord.gg/yourserver link: that is level 3, 14 boosts, not one less.

The maths, in the end

You can spend an hour optimising your Nitro or talking your community into boosting. Or keep it simple:

  • At Discord: 14 boosts, around €70 a month
  • With Nitro: around €52 a month
  • At Ap Service: check the current catalog for availability, duration and final checkout price.
